Discover History with the History BOX Micro Learning Units

The History Box Micro Learning units will provide context for important events and processes in history, trace the origins of important aspects of society and provide answers to questions immigrants might ask themselves when confronted with the realities of their country of residence, explaining peculiarities of a country whose significance might be difficult to understand without historical context.
Ever wondered if the Spanish queen Juana the Mad was truly mad? Or why a small country like Austria boasts so many old palaces around its capital? Curious about the significance of Sweden joining NATO? The History BOX project has the answers!
In the third work package of The History BOX, our project consortium is developing captivating micro learning units to explore fascinating aspects of the history of our partner countries. These units are designed to help newcomers understand the society they are becoming a part of by delving into its rich historical tapestry.
Making History Accessible and Engaging
Our goal is to create micro learning units that are not only informative but also easy to digest and entertaining. By collaborating with historians, we have identified the ten most significant periods, events, and figures in the history of each partner country. We conducted thorough research and are now focused on presenting our findings to educators, migrants, and anyone interested in these intriguing historical narratives.
What’s Inside the Micro Learning Units?
Each of the 50 micro learning units will feature:
- Easy-to-Read Texts: Clear and concise explanations of historical events and figures.
- Engaging Images: Visual aids to enhance understanding and retention.
- Additional Resources: Ideas for activities and further reading to deepen exploration.
These resources will be available on the History Box Training Hub, ready to be integrated into educational courses or explored by history enthusiasts.
Bringing History to Life
By learning about a country’s past, newcomers can better understand and connect with the society they are entering. Our micro learning units are crafted to make this journey through history enjoyable and enlightening. Stay tuned for the launch of these dynamic educational tools on the History Box platform!
